El contenido se enfoca en explicar por qué la justicia climática entendida como la equidad en el acceso a recursos, oportunidades y en la distribución de beneficios y cargas climáticas es esencial para diseñar, implementar y evaluar NbS efectivas y sostenibles en contextos de adaptación.

In this online session you can explore more on how to put a gender-responsive approach to EbA into practice. Angie Dazé, from the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) introduces you to the new knowledge product by GIZ and IISD: "Toward Gender-Responsive Ecosystem-Based Adaptation: Why it is needed and how to get there", aiming to illustrate the importance of integrating gender considerations in EbA actions and to provide concrete examples of how this can be done in practice. Additionally, Manorama Sunuwar from CARE Nepal describes an on-the-ground case of gender-responsive EbA in Nepal. This session was organized by the GIZ Global Project Mainstreaming EbA (IKI-BMU funded), as well as the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).

Las Soluciones basadas en la Naturaleza (SbN) son “acciones dirigidas a proteger, gestionar y restaurar de manera sostenible ecosistemas naturales o modificados, que hacen frente a retos de la sociedad de forma efectiva y adaptable, proporcionando simultáneamente bienestar humano y beneficios de la biodiversidad”. Son cada vez más relevantes en la planificación de los países, involucrando sectores relacionados con recursos naturales (por ej. agricultura, forestaría, pesca, etc.), pero también en la planificación territorial, construcción de infraestructura, sector financiero o reducción de riesgos de desastres.

Roadmaps for scaling up Ecosystem-based Adaptation: Insights from Guatemala and India
Durante los últimos tres años, TMG Research, en colaboración con socios en Guatemala e India, ha desarrollado modelos de cooperación multisectorial diseñados para escalar la Adaptación basada en Ecosistemas (AbE) desde el nivel local al nacional. Este proceso culminó en la creación de "hojas de ruta" estratégicas que integran a gobiernos, sector privado y sociedad civil en planes de acción concretos para transversalizar la AbE en políticas públicas. El seminario web analizó estos procesos, destacando cómo dichas plataformas de colaboración sirven como herramientas esenciales para superar barreras y promover soluciones de adaptación integrales que generan múltiples beneficios sociales y ecológicos.
Creando alianzas para la Adaptación basada en Ecosistemas (AbE) en Guatemala
Este vídeo muestra la importancia de construir alianzas en torno a la Adaptación Basada en Ecosistemas (AbE) como manera de escalar las soluciones basadas en la naturaleza en general. En Guatemala se está desplegando un abordaje con múltiples actores, innovador y dinámico, para construir un apoyo más amplio para la AbE. En 2019 se celebró Guatemala el Primer Foro Nacional de AbE, en el que más de 100 participantes se reunieron para compartir experiencias, aprender de los ejemplos y comprometerse a unir fuerzas para una mayor aceptación de las soluciones basadas en la naturaleza a nivel nacional. En el vídeo se recogen declaraciones de ministerios, representantes de la sociedad civil, organizaciones no gubernamentales, la cooperación internacional para el desarrollo, institutos de investigación y el sector privado.
